From San Jose, CA, Petriform has brought energetic chiptunes and synth music from the California chipmusic scene from coast to coast and for over a decade. Drawing unapologetically from a grab-bag bursting at the seams with genre influences including bubblegum pop, 80s-90s VGM, third wave ska, prog metal, happy hardcore, and turn-of-the-millennium pop punk, no two Petriform releases are the same – and neither are the live shows, for that matter!Petriform has performed at notable chiptune events such as MAGFest, MAGWest, freq.fest, 8bitsf, Pacific Noise Works, and Oregon Country Squarewave, at such esteemed venues as DNA Lounge in San Francisco, the Phoenix Theater in Petaluma, and The Smell in Los Angeles, and has contributed a number of remixes to notable projects belonging to West Coast chiptune and electronic acts.Petriform compositions have appeared in such media as the 2014 film Cuts & Bruises and the New Japan Pro-Wrestling Official English Podcast; additionally, Petriform contributed theme music and select sound effects toward the default theme of the popular cross-platform rhythm game StepMania 5. A Petriform performance was highlighted in the May 21-27, 2014 issue of Metro Silicon Valley Newspaper (page 55).
